As of September 1, 2023, your Twilio phone number needs to be registered as a A2P 10DLC number. A2P (Application to Person) 10DLC (10 digit long code) is the standard that United States telecom carriers have put in place to ensure that SMS traffic to US end-users through long code phone numbers is verified and consensual.
Since the Tournament Keeper’s SMS text module is application controlled then the Twilio phone number must be registered as A2P 10DLC verified. This can be done through the Twilio web site at https://wwwTwilio.com
More details can be found here:
What is A2P 10DLC and who needs to register: https://www.twilio.com/docs/sms/a2p-10dlc#who-needs-to-register-for-a2p-10dlc
US carriers will no longer deliver an application generated text that doesn’t use a registered A2P 10DLC number.
The registration process can take up to 7 weeks, so don’t delay to register your Twilio phone number. Texts will not be delivered until the registration process is complete.
